About the Author Deedra Climer is a Southern writer who’d rather write about race and poverty than sweet tea and magnolias. A short book with a powerful message.Deedra lost her son in an accident right here in Memphis. I KNOW Summer Ave....I KNOW Midtown...I can not say i know the loss of a child but i do know the loss of a brother. Two to be exact. And what it does to a mothers heart, a mothers life is unimaginable.But the story is also about herself and her upbringing , how she pulled herself up by her bootstraps to be a single mother. This book is honest, raw, and packed with feeling.

Josh bragged to me how great of a writer his mother is and he was right. Can't wait to read whatever she puts out next.

The author writes from the depths of her soul, words that no parent should ever have to. The story of losing her only son so tragically is beyond anything I can imagine. She writes it with such love, anger, and desperation. At the end I felt that she had somehow found a small part of who she use to be before the unspeakable happened. I'm sure Joshua would be very proud of her for writing this book and keeping his memory alive. I would imagine that with each chapter she wrote there was great fear, because putting it into words made it even more real.
