Also was very insightful for a child to understand the reasoning behind not only her mother's abusive behavior, but also her father's continued love and hope for the mother. I would recommend this to anyone who is dealing with a parent who is mentally ill. As a past therapist I can see how reading this wonderful account of childhood and abuse could lead to not only a fuller understanding of ones own childhood but also as a stepping stone for great conversation and insight.

Funny,exciting and profoundly disturbing when Raine must deal with this person who is determined to harm her. An inside look into the double lives that abuse victims lead. Loved the book! Love the author!!

Vividly told with both good and bad of what happens to and around her. I had to repeatedly remind myself how old she was to be so wise. I learned I need to remember my angels.
