The gods are living comfortably in the modern world, coasting on their power, when some long-discarded Titans decide to enter the game and shake things up again by using humans to unearth a dangerous secret. Among the gods, at least fun-loving Dionysus has the gumption to stand up to Zeus's terrible retribution, but I will recommend, without spoiler-ing, that you do not count the humans out.The Ascendant is a fun, twisty romp with some serious heft behind it. I devoured it as if it were my own child!
