Excerpt from Robert Hardy's Seven Days: A Dream and Its ConsequencesIt was Sunday night, and Robert Harding had just come home from the evening service in the church at Barton. He was not in the habit of attending the evening service, but something said by his minister in the morning had impelled him to go out. The evening had been a little unpleasant, and a light snow was falling, and his wife had excused herself from going to church on that account. Mr. Hardy came home cross and fault-finding."Catch me going to evening service again! Only fifty people out, and it was a sheer waste of fuel and light. The sermon was one of the dullest I ever heard. I believe Mr. Jones is growing too old for our church.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. We don't often consider simple consequences By Rob Sheldon has a knack for causing you to think about the consequences of your decisions in most of his work...Robert Hardy's Seven Days is no different. With only 7-days left to live, Hardy must try to undo a lifetime of missteps that really amount to him living his life for himself. He equates providing for his family (which amounts to the absenteeism of a workaholic), with being a good father. Sometimes doing the right thing isn't a matter of not doing the worse of two evils, but choosing to do the better of two goods. Hardy finds out that if he simply follows after Jesus, the rest of his affairs fall into place.
