About the Author Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902) worked hand in hand with Susan B. Anthony as a social reformer and leader of the woman suffrage movement. With abolitionist and women’s rights activist Lucretia Mott she organized the first U.S. women’s rights convention, in Seneca Falls, NY (1848), and with Susan B. Anthony she organized the National Woman Suffrage Association (1869).

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. wonderful By RB After watching "Iron Jawed Angels" and with the rise of the Tea party, Fox news, the religious right (wrong) I wanted to understand more of the people who laid the foundation of the Women's Rights Movement. This is worth the time to read by a participant in the early days of suffrage about one of the earliest and most dedicated suffrage leaders.

Anthonly. It's brave women such as this that set the stage for women's rights and the progress of women today. Stanton does a terrific job in relating this brave woman's journey in history.
