About the Author J.M. Briggs is a native of Great Falls, Montana though she traveled extensively while young. She attended the University of Idaho and majored in Political Science and History. Then she lived in London for a year while attending the University of Westminster to earn a master's degree in International Relations. J.M. Briggs is a lover of mythology and history from around the world and originally wanted to be an archaeologist. She loves to read, watch bad monster movies, play with the dog, embroider, crochet, paint and learn new random things.

I connected with the characters and was drawn right in with the story. It had my heart racing at several points and chuckling at others. I loved the way the author weaved the past into the story and the way it worked with the present. Great read and will definitely recommend to friends.

Love love loved this book! It definitely had me hooked! I absolutely fell in love with the characters and their stories each one was unique and I kept wanting to know more! Soooooo upset that it ended lol I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great story, distracting typos By Darcy Thornburg I read this book because I know the author's fan fiction work and was curious to see what they would do with original material. I am not disappointed; the plot is engaging, and the mythology well-researched and thoroughly woven in with the world that J. M. Briggs has created.However, there are so many typos and/or use of the wrong words for the context of sentences in which they were used that I had trouble not being distracted by them. For instance, the word "mediation" was used every time the author meant to use "meditation," there was once a lower-case Z after the period at the end of the sentence, words were sometimes left out of sentences so that I had to guess at the meaning, and letters left out of words. At least once, the main character's name was changed from Alex to Ales, and (I don't know if this was deliberate or not) the A was left off of the end of "Morgana" many times.Finally, I have never heard Morgana called "Morgana le Fey." In all other stories I have seen about her, she has either just been Morgana, or Morgan le Fey, with no final A. J. M. Briggs may have found literature that called her otherwise; I don't know, but the full "Morgana le Fey" seems an awkward name to me.Again, this is a great modern Merlin story, but the author should find an editor who is more able to catch such mistakes as I mentioned above before publishing the next novel in the series.
