Bravo By eleanor murphy This book is an amazing inside look into the corruption of the Federal Court and Prison Systems and one mans struggle to survive it all. Donavon keeps your attention at all times. You feel like you are right there with him. Unlike most books written by former inmates, Donavan tells you exactly how it was and how it is. You have to appreciate the bluntness of his then reality. I was more than impressed with his writing skills, clearly his passion to get his point across to the reader is more than evident. I would call this author brilliant. I believe that Donavon Bradley will be a name soon recognized by many as an accomplished author. Living Proof that just because we sometimes make grave mistakes in life, it is not the end. But in this case a new beginning.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Riveting By Amazon Customer This may be Donavon's first book but you would never know it. As an avid reader, I have read a lot of books. This book would rate at the top of my favorites list. As Donavon tells us the story of his life, he opens us to a world many of had no clue and inspires those who do to turn their life around. I couldn't put it down. I recommend all to read this book and have faith that God and perseverance can change anyone's life.

Cubic Zirconia By Back To Reality I think it's very creative how the author manages to embellish aspects of his life, bringing about a new and improved story that would capture the attention of readers that are eager to hear an exciting hood story. But, if you're really paying attention, there are a few nuances that are not consistent with what one would call "the ghetto." Although he tries to use language native to the street, certain things are out of place (ex: c**t and schmuck). This tells you a lot about the author. Additionally, he seems to navigate through his environment with a Marvel Comic type persona as though no one can touch him except for maybe law enforcement in force. The ultimate bad boy story pushes the envelope in this case.Being from the same neighborhood as the author, I can hardly call any part of the Phoebus or Buckroe neighborhoods of Hampton, VA "the streets" or "the ghetto" for that matter. Having spent many years moving between there and DC, there's a stark contrast between the lifestyles. Hampton is a sleeper/military town where many of the natives to the area are likely related. Nothing really happens around the way without everyone hearing about it. At some point, most people who are caught up in foolish cross paths. It's also the kind of place that out-of-towners are emulated in order establish a sense of identity. Unfortunately, that's why many of my old associates referenced in this story got caught up. Though things weren't that good, lust was the primary motivator.Never knew this much about Donavon Bradley (no one talked about him at cookouts). Incredible tale!! This is for the rest of the world. Enjoy!!
