Not ever knowing John as he was a good 10+ years older than me..I can relate to his story about life in our small town. Things have changed a lot since we were kids but I still have to believe that if I needed something my neighbors would still help out as they did back then for John. Thanks for your story John...you seem to have overcome any obstacles that tried to stand in your way in your youth and it made you a better person I'm sure. My mom, at 87, had stopped reading, but when you stopped in to give her an autographed book, she was so happy she came home and read it from cover to cover, Telling me how great it was and how she could relate to the book and you. By kenneth a. mosby I grew up with John his brother Billy and have know John for the past 70 years. I have read the book and this view of the Village of Greenport brings back cherished memoirs. John fail to reference the underground bigotry that was exercised, during are youth in the Village. I know I lived with this
