When I got married in 1997, I embarked on a journey to write a Christmas letter that our families and friends would look forward to pulling from their mailboxes. I wanted them to laugh at our letter – not because it was poorly written, but because it was amusing. But then, something unexpected happened…
One winter day, an anesthesiologist at my wife’s hospital (my wife doesn’t actually own the hospital, she just works there) approached her.
He said, “Your family Christmas letter was hilarious.”
“I don’t recall sending you a letter, Doctor - (squinting at his nametag) Morphiney,” my wife replied politely.
“You didn’t,” he smiled. “One of the nurses pinned it up on the staff bulletin board with a ‘Must Read’ sticky note on it.”
Requests for the letter from different hospital employees my wife didn’t know –and even requests for back issues of our letters for cross reference - continued to happen each December…

John Post, everyone's next door neighbor and close family friend, brilliantly compiled his yearly Christmas letters that have been a perennial Season highlight to his family and friends. Young, old and those in the middle will laugh out loud as he hysterically recounts personal stories in an elegantly simple style, so that they all feel as if they were our own. This is a walk down memory lane for everyone. Read it, reread it and pass it on!

The stories are hilarious and fun for the whole family, big and small.P.S. Thank you for inspiring me to do the same as you. I will never forget you.
