By Joe Corso There are few authors who know the mob better than Joe Bruno, or who can write about them the way he does that is not only informative but entertaining. In this book Bruno writes about mobsters past, enlightening us of little known but interesting facts about them. For example I particularly enjoyed the segment he wrote on Joe Valachie. I met Joe Valachie once when he came into the butcher store I worked in the little Italy section of lower Manhattan. The reason I remember him is the check he gave us bounced. At the time I thought he was just a pudgy nondescript guy with a reputation of being a mobster. It wasn't until I read Bruno's meticulously researched account of the man that I realized how much more there was to this guy than I would have ever imagined. This is an enjoyable well written book which I recommend to all of you who enjoy reading a good mob book.
