By Sharon McMahan A delightful tale for all ages of an idyllic elvish community as it goes about daily life, and pulls together to face a threat to its very existence. Mary Ann Cox has created a delightful elvish world, inhabited by elves of many ages, talents and foibles. This would be a superlative book to read aloud a bit at a time to children, with ample time for discussion. It has both action and intrigue to keep interest high, and characters showing strength and wisdom while overcoming adversity.I believe my flower garden is in need of an elf statue. Who wouldn't want to attract woodland creatures that daily make the following Promise? “I will do my duties faithfully with kindness toward all. I will help those in need, care for the land, honor our traditions, and maintain our peaceful way of life.”

It is easy to envision the elves of all ages and shapes. They express a view of human beings that is sadly true to life. The elves compassion for animals and each other is exemplary for the reader.My only disappoint thus far is that I have to wait to see these elves in a movie or illustrations showing these delightful creatures.Come on, Mrs. Cox! I want more adventures.

I came to know and love them all. Their adventures are fun and amazing. Many life lessons are taught by example, such as love, trust, respect, helping each other and getting along. I am giving away copies as gifts. I love this book! I hear another is in the making. Hurry up, Mary Ann!
